Traditional orthodontics seeks to create a perfect bite relationship, which can include the movement of the back teeth. These movements can take years to accomplish. For adults who are comfortable with their bites these teeth do not necessarily need to be moved. Short-Term Orthodontics seeks only to move the teeth in your "esthetic zone"; that is, the teeth you can see when you smile.

There are two major ways we can accomplish this for you:

Clear Aligner Therapy

Below is an example of a single clear aligner

Also known as Invisalign or ClearCorrect. With clear aligner therapy the teeth are moved with a series of clear plastic trays which are worn at least 22 hours a day. They are removable and nearly invisible. They are taken out to eat and to clean your teeth. Treatment usually takes between 6 and 18 months. People who do not want visible braces and straight teeth love this solution.

6 Month Smiles

This technique uses tooth colored brackets and tooth colored wires much like traditional orthodontics, but are nearly invisible. You do not remove these for eating or cleaning your teeth. Treatment usually takes between 4 and 9 months, about the time between your routine cleaning appointments. Since the treatment time is usually shorter than clear aligner therapy the cost can be less as well.
